I finished a search sample from MSDN - how to use the MOSS Search from a C# Application - here it is:

 

 

 

The sample supports the SQL Query syntax - that means something like wildcard search ...

 

I think i will finish another sample which fits better into the MOSS UI in 2 or 3 weeks - the idea is using the Search web Services (from inside the Sharepoint designer) and visualize the results with the dataview webparts
