Ich schätze einmal, da haben wir uns alle schon einmal darüber geärgert, dass SharePoint 2007 alles in seinem 12\Logs Verzeichnis mitprotokolliert (wenn eingeschalten) und dies bei der Fehlersuche nicht unbedingt sooooo toll ist (auch mit den zusätzlichen Tools die es da so gibt.. vor allem bei mehreren Webfront-Ends).
Naja jedenfalls hat mich ein guter Freund auf -> http://www.dotnetmafia.com/blogs/dotnettipoftheday/archive/2009/07/13/features-i-am-looking-forward-to-the-most-in-sharepoint-2010.aspx hingewiesen und da steht doch tatsächlich geschrieben "As I was watching the admin video, the first thing that I noted is that there will be a logging database. This appears to replace the need to find errors in the 12 hive's LOGS folder. "
Ich glaub wir können uns alle bei der Aussage anschließen "This one is a no-brainer and should have always been included to begin with. " :)
